Random Morning Thoughts

Still recovering from a late night last night. Instead of going out to see fireworks like we had talked about, my wife and I spent the evening on the deck of a neighbor watching the local county fireworks. It was a great night and fun to meet a another neighbor, but I’m not as young as I used to be and staying up until midnight isn’t the same as it was in college…….oh well.

Reading the morning paper reveals this story about the upcoming battle to replace Sandra Day O’Connor on the Supreme Court. Unanswered is the question of how we can actually fix a judicial nomination process that is so obviously broken.

Why does it matter who replaces O’Connor ? Check out this excellent piece from Fox News for the answer.

Hollywood appears to be wondering why
box office revenue is down for the 19th straight week. Could it possibly be because the movies you’re releasing are, for the most part, crap ? No, that couldn’t be it at all.

And, finally, when exactly did eating 49 hot dogs in 12 minutes become a sport ? Pretty nauseating if you ask me. Apparently, there’s big money in this activity.

More later, maybe. Time to read the paper and get ready for work.

Enough already! Fantastic 4, War of the Worlds, Batman, Bewitched, Herbie, Star Wars. Hollywood complains about dwindling ticket sales. Been there, done that. Remakes of movies and re-treads of old television shows only lead to general disappointment and increased disinterest. MommyCool.com wants to know where the good new release family movies are? Any hints?
