The man who said those famous words at the 1992 Vice-Presidential debate Admiral James Stockdale has died.
He was Ross Perot’s running mate but, more importantly, was a war hero and recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
Considering that he was sharing the stage that night with two lightweights — Dan Quayle and Al Gore — maybe he should’ve asked “Who are they ? Why are they here ?.”
