Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

The Beltway Blues

by @ 9:18 am on July 16, 2005.

Except for the continued media frenzy over Karl Rove, the biggest story in the DC area this weekend is this one about the closing of part of the Beltway for 57 hours.

For those who don’t live here, this is a big deal simply because the Beltway also happens to be part of Interstate 95, one of the most heavily traveled roads in the country. Diverting traffic for an entire summer weekend on the Beltway will have an impact on traffic from here to Richmond.

I know that this work has to be done, but this doesn’t strike me as an entirely smart move.
