I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Despicable

Every now and then you find a story about a politician so wrapped up in themselves that they will use any opportunity they can find to advance their career or agenda. This story from the Pittsburgh area, though, is one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time.

The family of a Marine who was killed in Iraq is furious with Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll for showing up uninvited at his funeral this week, handing out her business card and then saying “our government” is against the war.

To call this despicable is probably understating the situation significantly. Why this woman felt free to crash a private funeral service is beyond my comprehension. Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell has apologized for this fiasco but I haven’t heard anything about Lt. Gov. Knoll herself apologizing.
