I drove over to the vetrenarian’s office with Kellie this morning to pick Riley up from his weekend of sugery and being kept at a kennel. I referred to it as Operation Liberate Riley.
We had learned as early as Friday afternoon that he had made it through the surgery with flying colors and he was doing really well when we checked in again Saturday morning. The only complaint we had was that the vet who performed the surgery had failed to flush out the tear ducts of his eyes as we had requested. It isn’t a life-threatening condition by any means, but the white part of one of his eyes is much darker than the other and the vet had said in April that flushing the tear duct would alleviate this condition. They did remove one stubborn baby tooth, though, and found two more that had not fallen out yet. Apparently, if they don’t fall out within the next two months or so, we will have to take him in again to have them removed.
Anyway, as soon as Riley saw Kellie and I he went nuts and apparently that continued throughout most of the day according to the reports I’ve gotten from my better half. We are in the middle of a massive heatwave right now, though, that is supposed to last through Thursday so I have a feeling he will be spending a lot of time indoors over the next few days.
