Its happened with sheep, cows, cats, and rats, so I suppose it was inevitable that South Korean scientists have unveiled the worlds first cloned dog, Snuppy.

There is supposedly a purpose in all this cloning in that it is all tied into the research surrounding stem cells, which are believed to be the key to treating, and possibily eradicating, a whole host of diseases ranging from Parkinson’s Disease to Alzhiemer’s to cancer.

I feel a certain uneasiness in the news of yet another cloned animal, but I think its absurd not to at least explore an area of science that has potential to benefit all of mankind.
