As last night’s game revealed, it is pretty clear now that the Cinderella story that was the Washington Nationals has ended. The Nats fell out of first place in the NL East weeks ago and are now 6 1/2 games behing the Atlanta Braves and tied for 3rd place with the Florida Marlins. The NL Wild Card race doesn’t look any better, with the Nats 2 games behind the Astros.

Attendance at RFK Stadium is still going strong despite the way the season has turned out since the All-Star Break. I will admit that I have not gotten to a game yet, and really don’t have any plans to get there this season. That said, its good to have baseball in my home town.
