Wake Me Up When Its Over

The results of last night’s game only serve to confirm that its a bad year to be a Yankee fan. Not only are they 5 1/2 games behind Boston in the AL East, they are also 4 1/2 games behind the Angels and Indians in the AL Wild Card Race.

There are alot of reasons for this, including the fact that the pitching staff is old and gets injured frequently. Instead of building up a young rotation over the last few years, New York has relied on attracting aging superstars like Randy Johnson with big wads of cash. This may be the year that finally shows that they’ve been following the wrong strategy.
