Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Always Remember

by @ 2:26 pm on September 11, 2005.

I was going to try write something profound to make the 4th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The memory of that day is something that will be seared in my mind forever, and the emotions that it invoked still rise to the surface whenever I see the images of that day, or when the possibility that something like it, or worse, could happen again enters my mind.

I tried, but failed, to come up with the right words to express what I, and every American feels about that day. For one thing, others have written things far more profound than I could ever hope to come up with. No words, though, can equal the images of that day. Instead, I leave these images, and the words of a man who helped lead the world through an earlier struggle with evil.

The Pentagon

Pennsylvania:

We shall go on to the end………we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.
