Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Baseball Blogging: This Is How It’s Supposed To End

by @ 6:45 am on September 20, 2005.

The final two weeks of September are turning out to be the most exciting September in baseball in years. Consider this:

In the American League West, the Athletics are within 1.5 games of the Angels.

In the American League Central, the surging Cleveland Indians, currently leading in the Wildcard race are are only 2.5 games behind the once-surging White Sox.

Then there’s the American League East, where the Yankees are now within .5 games of the Red Sox and only 1.5 games behind the Indians for the wildcard.

The Yankees play the remainder of their games against the Orioles and Blue Jays and end the season with what could be a season-deciding three game series against the Red Sox in Boston.

The Indians are in much the same position; between now and the end of the season they will play 6 games against the White Sox, including a three game season-ending series at Jacobs Field.

I love September.
