Wild Weekend Day One

by @ 9:28 am on October 1, 2005. Filed under Baseball, New York Yankees, Sports

If you’re a Yankees or Indians fan, day one of the wild season-ending weekend did not go as planned.

The Red Sox beat the Yankees 5-3 and forced a tie for 1st place in the AL East.

Meanwhile, Indians fell one game back in the wild card race after a 1-0 loss to the White Sox.

And that’s not the only close race left, the NL Wild card race is now a one game race between the Astros and Philles after Houston’s 4-3 loss to the Cubs.

None of these races will be decided before Sunday, and we could end up with one or more tiebreakers on Monday and Tuesday

Unfortunately, today’s Yankees-Red Sox game will not be broadcast here in the Washington, DC area.
