Well, today was the third day of my temporary hiatus from the working world. Compared to the previous two, its been a pretty good day so far.
On Tuesday, I had two dental appointments as part of a cleaning and scaling procedure that is divided over four appointments. (Yes, I know, I’ve been bad to my teeth but its not as bad as a root canal) On Wednesday, I had the final two appointments back to back. So, basically, in the course of 48 hours, I did something that is normally done over a 4 week time period. My dentist and hygenist were, I think, a bit amazed at my willingness to undergo four procedures in two days, but I wanted to get as much done before the new job starts as possible. By the afternoon yesterday, I was pretty worn down………..but I feel fine today and there have been no side effects worth mentioning.
I wasn’t away from the office for 24 hours, though, before I got a phone call from my former boss. The first call, on Tuesday, was about a case set for trial in November. The one yesterday annoyed me. I was the go-to guy for technology in the office. Now, they need to reset password and redirect email accounts now that I’m gone. And they’re asking me how to do it. That’s what the computer consultant is for…………..
Anyway, no calls today but I wasn’t expecting any.
Today, Kellie and I spent the day running around taking care of errands, including shopping for some necessities for the new job, such as a few new suits which I really needed. As much as I hate shopping, Men’s Wearhouse really makes the whole experience manageable.
I am really looking forward to tomorrow and the weekend and doing something fun, though I don’t know what it yet. I do plan on making this recipie for Kellie tomorrow evening.
And what am I doing right now ? Well, when we got back from shopping, Kellie came downstairs to the computer room with a plate of cheese and crackers and a Tanquery and Tonic. Life is good.
