Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Its Never Too Early

It may only be 2005, but yesterday’s Politics Blog in the Washington Post handicapped the race for President in 2008.

As I looked throught the list of Republican contenders, the only response I could come up with is yawn. Giuliani is an interesting choice, but he’ll never make it through the primaries. All the talk about Condolezza Rice is just that, talk. I generally like her as Secretary of State, but does anyone really know where she stands on any other issue ? Yea, I don’t know either.

Right now, it seems like the only Republican on the list that interests me at all is George Allen, who happens to be one of my Senators. At the same time, there is plenty of talk about Gov. Mark Warner as either a Presidential or Vice-Presidential nomineee. Virginia has not had a native son at the top of either ticket in quite some time, in 2008 we could end up with one on each ticket.
