Not really, but that isn’t stopping the Washington, D.C. area from freaking out for the second time this week.
A slippery mix of snow, sleet and freezing, spitting rain moved swiftly across the Washington area this morning, producing numerous spinouts on snowy and icy roads throughout the region, closing down all major school systems and causing the federal government to implement a delayed arrival policy.
And what, exactly, is it that has brought the capital of the free world to its knees ?
As of about 6:00 a.m., about accumulations totaled about 1.6 linches in the District, 3.5 inches in the Colesville area of Montgomery County, 2.8 inches in Centreville in Virginia, 3.5 inches at Woodbridge with much greater accumulations in West Virginia.
3.5 inches ? 3.5 inches ? Geez, just shovel it and move on.
