I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Sad News

Via Hit & Run comes the news that R.W. Bradford, the editor and founder of Liberty Magazine, has died after a battle with lung cancer.

For those of you unfamiliar with it, which is probably many, Liberty is a libertarian magazine started by Bradford in 1987. In its 18 years its covered pretty much any topic you can think of, and then some. I’ve been a subscriber from the beginning and, while I haven’t always agreed with everything I’ve read, its been one of the most thought-provoking monthly reads out there, partly because Bradford managed to bring together a very strong staff of contributing editors as well as many interesting guest writers each month.

The current issue of Liberty can be found here and archives going back to 2002 can be found here.

Hopefully, Liberty will continue providing consistently good writing and news coverage in Bradford’s absence.
