Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Markets and Morality

I’ve been involved in a lively and interesting discussion over at The Liberty Papers. It started with this post by Eric Cowperthwaite that quickly led into a discussion on the libertarian position on monopolies and large corporation. Then, Brad posted this email exchange he had regarding Microsoft and monopoly. Then, Eric had these thoughts about the issue of scarcity as it applied to the issues we’d been discussing in the comments. My most recent thoughts about the issue of whether questions of “good” or “bad” should be used to evaluate market outcomes can be found here.

Lots of good reading in the posts and the comments. Check it all out.
