Too Soon ? Not Soon Enough

On April 28th, Universal Pictures will release United 93, Peter Greengrass’s film about the fourth plane involved in the September 11th attacks which was brought down in the skies over Pennsylvania thanks to a revolt by passengers. The trailer, which can be viewed here, was released last weekend and has caused some controversy and complaints from families of 9/11 victims and others who are saying its “too soon” for a film about September 11th.

There’s no question that a film about September 11th has the potential to be quite emotional. The sight of seeing the Twin Towers burning on a movie screen will, no doubt, be quite powerful. But that doesn’t mean the movie shouldn’t be made. In fact, its about time that Hollywood got on board in the War on Terror and, if this movie is the beginning of a trend, then I say let it happen.

I watched the trailer online for the first time this morning and it was as powerful as I thought it would be. I will definitely be seeing this movie when its released.
