I’m sure Jack will make me pay for getting this posted late, especially after promising to get it up Thursday night, but, nonetheless, here comes this week’s edition of the Carnival of Bauer.
As usual, we start off with a round-up of recaps of last week’s episode.
First up, the Anti-Idiotarian Rotweiler offers its usual humorous recap of the 1am-2am hour, which ended with Jack using his magic invisibility hoodie to sneak onto an airplane.
Next, Jeff at Peace Like a River offers his own recap as well as some very good questions about exactly where the rest of the season is going.
Then, Steve Strum at ThoughtsOnline offers his latest list of 24isms and observations about this past week’s epsiode.
Next Cake or Death points out that last Monday’s episode teaches a very simple lesson — if you cross Jack Bauer, you die.
Then, King Tom’s Kingdom offers Toon its own observations about an episode that saw everything from a Secretary of Defense imitating Toonces to the revelation that this seasons events may have been engineered by a bunch of guys sitting around wearing Bluetooh headsets.
Finally, Mr. Random tells us what he thinks should have actually happened between 1am and 2am.
Moving away from episode recaps, there’s much more that’s been contributed this week.
First, Josh Cohen at Mutiple Mentality notes the similarities between the current season of 24 and Keifer Sutherland’s new movie The Sentinal. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but can it really be like 24 is Chloe’s not around ?
Next, GOP and The City notes this article about an encounter between Keifer Sutherland and a busboy intent on enforcing a no-smoking rule, and speculates on what really happened. Message to the busboy, don’t mess with Jack.
As if that busboy wasn’t in bad enough shape, Blogs4Bauer writes about what might happen if Jack got caught up in one of those Nigerian email scams. I’d hate to be anywhere near Nigeria if that happened.
Next, PJB at paranethetical remarks writes about the differences between our current crop of politicians and the late, great David Palmer and points to this petition to draft Dennis Haysbert/David Palmer to run for President in 2008. Sounds good to me, as long as Sherry Palmer isn’t included in the deal and Mike Novick is ordered to stay away from stair cases.
The 2am hour starts with Jack Bauer on an airplane. In that light, Blogs4Bauer recounts the fate of other airplanes Jack has been on. Personally, I’d be more concerned about having Jack on board than snakes.
The fate of Secretary of Defense James Heller would seem to have been sealed by the sight of his car going over a cliff into a lake last week. However, courtesy of Inn of the Last Home, we have news that William Devane will be taking the character in a new direction.
I hadn’t heard this, but apparently Kobe Bryant wants to change his uniform number to 24. Fmragtops wonders if this is motivated by nostalgia, or Kobe’s desire to imitate our favorite hero.
Finally, Templar Times offers some suggestions about ways to celebrate Jack Bauer Appreciation Day. What’s that ? You haven’t heard about Jack Bauer Apperciation Day ? Well, its May 9th, so you better get ready. Otherwise Jack will be very disappointed.
And thus we come to the end of this week’s edition of the Carnival of Bauer. Once again, my apologies for getting it posted so late but it was, unavoidable. I’d like to thank Blogs4Bauer for allowing me to host this week’s carnival and everyone who sent in submissions. Next week’s Carnival of Bauer will be hosted at Right Wing Nation so get those submissions in !

hello? Why is my carnival submission not here? I have an e-mail receipt dated April 27 showing that I submitted my post. Now I’m really pouting just like Chloe because I was left out.
