This time, he’s found a way to politicize one thing that seemed to have been beyond politics, the weather:
ORLANDO, Fla. — As Tropical Storm Alberto threatened to strengthen into the ninth hurricane in 22 months to affect Florida, former President Clinton predicted Monday that Republican environmental policies will lead to more severe storms.
“It is now generally recognized that while Al Gore and I were ridiculed, we were right about global warming,” Clinton said at a fundraiser for the Florida Democratic Party. “It’s a serious problem. It’s going to lead to more hurricanes.”
So let me get this straight. The planet we live on is about five billion years old. Science has demonstrated that weather patterns act in ways that we cannot understand in the short term. And yet, the fact that its warmer than it may have been 200 years ago (when we had a mini Ice Age) is the fault of the GOP and all those evil capitalists. Yeah, right Slick Willie.
The only interesting thing I draw from this speech is Clinton’s mention of Al Gore who, quite possibly, could end up being the principal challenger to Hillary Rodham Clinton for the Democatic nomination in 2008.

You can’t hide from this. Just because you’re on the wrong side of it politically, doesn’t mean that you can somehow wish it away. 100% of actual scientists concurr that the climate crisis is real and accelerating. The only ones who oppose it either have an economic interest in selling the $100 Trillion worth of oil in the Earth’s crust, or are politically owned by those who do.
Either way, when you deny it you make yourself look egregiously foolish.
And, what, exactly, is your solution ?
Seriously, I’m waiting for Al Gore or one of his robots to come up with a something that will actually work in the real world
