Fourth Of July Movie Review

by @ 7:29 am on July 5, 2006.

Yesterday afternoon, before sitting down to a great meal and a night of neighborhood fireworks, Kellie and watched Broken Flowers, a 2004 movie starring Bill Murray as a bachelor who gets a note from an unidentified former gilrfriend, or so we think, informing him that he has a son who was born almost 20 years ago. The rest of the movie involves Murray visiting four former girlfriends, each of whom could possibly be the mother of the supposed child. In the end, there is no resolution. We don’t know if Murray’s character has a son or not, or who the mother is, or why she sent the letter. Or, in the end, what the point of this movie was.

I am generally a fan of some of Bill Murray’s more serious roles, but this movie was just a completely dud.
