As you might expect, it was quite a night in Columbus, Ohio last night:
As the last 25 seconds ticked off the clock, the Buckeye faithful streamed down the steps of Ohio Stadium.
Fists pumping in the air, the thousands of jubilant fans swarmed the football field, reveling in a perfect regular season that culminated in a 42-39 Ohio State victory yesterday over the No. 2-ranked Wolverines.
“This game lived up to its billing; it was the best damn game of the year. Forget that, the century,” shouted Mark Brown, 45, of the Near East Side, as he danced in a circle on the field.
The win, OSU’s fifth against Michigan in Jim Tressel’s six seasons as head coach, sends Ohio State to the Bowl Championship Series national title game, scheduled for Jan. 8 in Glendale, Ariz.
Tressel. Gotta love that guy. Especially that 5-1 Michigan thing.

I’m already seeing calls for Carr’s head. After last year’s 7-5 Michigan season, they started rolling in. Most thought that it would quiet down this year, of course, starting 11-0. But that’s not good enough for fans of either of these schools. There’s one game of the year you’ve gotta win, and Carr has lost 5 of the last 6 to Tressel. That may be enough to get him fired, even if they go 12-1 this year.
