What A Game

by @ 11:54 pm on December 2, 2006.

The last time I remember a college football game ending this way was the Ohio State-Miami matchup in the National Championship in 2003/04. Or was it the OSU-Michigan game two weeks ago ? Or the USC-Norte Dame game last week ?

The stakes might not have been quite as high (or maybe they were), but the Rutgers-West Virginia game was just as exciting. Just like the OSU-Miami game, it went into triple overtime and, sadly for my alma mater, the Mountaineers won 41-39.

Whatever anyone might say, though, it was a hell of a game. And one hell of a season.

And, finally, Rutgers has shown itself to be a team to be reckoned with.

From the Irish Trojan:

Can everyone please agree, though, that Rutgers is for real? Coming within two points in three overtimes of beating West Virginia at Morgantown is damn impressive, and much better than many of the ?experts? thought they?d do.

Hell yes. I’ll admit it.

That was a great game… I was hoping Rutgers would pull it out, but they really showed they’re no joke.
