Three Movies I’m Looking Forward Too

by @ 12:50 am on December 20, 2006.

The end of the year is always a good time for fans of truly great movies because that’s when the studios release the last movies they want considered for Oscar contention. This year there are three movies I’m really looking forward to seeing:

1.? We Are Marshall

A story straight out of a Hollywood studio, only it’s real. The entire Marshall University football team is killed in a plane crash and the story revolves around the effort to rebuild the team, and the university and town that support it. The previews look great, and, quite honestly, my interest stems largely from the rabid Marshall fans I met when I attended an Ohio State-Marshall football game in 2003.

2. Letters From Iwo Jima

Earlier this year, Clint Eastwood released Flags Of Our Fathers,? which followed the story of the men who raised the flag at Iwo Jima. This movie, shot at the same time, shows the Iwo Jima battle from the Japanese perspective. It has already won several awards and just sounds intriguing.

3. Rocky Balboa

Yea, I know, another Rocky movie. But there’s something about this one that appeals to me. The reviews have been good so far, so I’m willing to give it chance. And how can you resist, when that music starts up again ?

Everyone who considers themselves a man will go see the new Rocky movie. It’s that simple.
