I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Definately TiVO Worthy

Bill O’Reilly and Stephen Colbert will swap appearances on each others shows tonight:

It could be a banner night for cable tonight. Funnyman Stephen Colbert will appear on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” at 7 p.m.

Later on tonight (10:30 p.m. to be exact), cultural warrior Bill O’Reilly appears on “The Colbert Report.”

Colbert has openly admitted that his show — and the arch-conservative character that hosts it — is a spoof of O’Reilly. O’Reilly, meanwhile, is taking credit for Colbert’s entire career.

It’ll be interesting to see if the showdown(s) live up to the hype … and also if there’s a corresponding uptick in audience for either (or both shows). My guess? YouTube will be the real beneficiary.

Set your DVRs. This could be fun.

The O’Reilly appearance was pretty funny. I was glad Bill brought up the fact that it used to be “Colbert,” as opposed to “Cole-bare.” It was still “Colbert” when he was a student at Hampden-Sydney in 1982-84.
