Signs That The Don Imus Story Needs To Be Over With

by @ 11:50 am on April 12, 2007.

Yesterday, MSNBC said that it would not longer simulcast the Don Imus show.

This morning, David Gregory headed up a revamped MSNBC morning lineup and spent the whole time talking about……Don Imus.

That’s just one sign that the Don Imus story is at the point where there really isn’t anything more that we need to hear (except, of course, the inevitable announcement? that CBS Radio is firing him), this is another:

CHICAGO ? The Rutgers’ women’s basketball team and coach C. Vivian Stringer were scheduled to appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show today as furor continues over remarks made about the team by radio host Don Imus.

Stringer and the 10 team members will appear live via satellite, a spokeswoman for Harpo Productions Inc. said Wednesday night.

It’s not all that surprising, of course. The Oprah Winfrey Show is where every American goes to have their say when they’re involved in a controvery. I’m sure there will be some crying too.

Memo to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, and the Imus-obssessed? Today Show: Move on already.

It is ironic too. People are trying to cast him in a bad light, and I imagine they want him to get less attention, but instead, this may have been one of the best things to ever happen to Imus’s radio program.
