Virginia Tech Students Ask The Media To Leave

by @ 8:10 am on April 22, 2007. Filed under Virginia

Classes resume tomorrow at Virginia Tech and the school’s student government is asking all members of the media to leave the campus by tomorrow morning:

Virginia Tech’s student government has asked that all journalists leave campus by 5 a.m. tomorrow, according to a statement issued by a spokeswoman.

“Students in general will also be declining all requests and contact from the media,” the statement says. “Please grant us your understanding as this decision was made by the students, with the intent to regain a sense of normalcy as we prepare to move forward as an academic institution and as a community in the healing process.”

The school will observe a moment of silence at 9:45 a.m. as students return to class, university officials announced

Good for them. Hopefully the media vultures will honor this request.

Yes, they do need to leave.

They keep telling us “Oooh, it’s time for healing!!!”

But then it’s like they’re throwing salt in our wounds… and rubbing.
