It’s been 14 years since I graduated law school, and I still remember how tough those three years were. So, congratulations are in order to fellow blogger and Notre Dame Law School graduate Brendan Loy.
Now comes the tough part, Brendan.
Bar Exams.
Billable Hours.
And Bosses.
But, hey, no more exams.

Inside The Yankee’s Front Office

by @ Sunday, May 20th, 2007. Filed under Baseball, New York Yankees, Sports

Peter Abraham has some inside information:
Joe Torre revealed today that he spoke with George Steinbrenner before the game yesterday and that the owner expressed nothing but support.
Steinbrenner?s son-in-law, Felix Lopez, made an appearance in the clubhouse before the game and met with Torre. His message, I was told, was the same.
Okay. Well, let’s see if [...]

Jimmy Carter Offers An Expert Opinion

by @ Sunday, May 20th, 2007. Filed under Bush Administration, Foreign Affairs, History, Politics

Jimmy Carter has declared George Bush the worst President in history when it comes to foreign policy:
LITTLE ROCK, May 19 — Former president Jimmy Carter called President Bush’s international relations “the worst in history” and also took aim at Bush’s environmental policies and the administration’s “quite disturbing” faith-based initiative program.
The criticism came in an interview [...]

Deja Vu All Over Again

by @ Sunday, May 20th, 2007. Filed under Baseball, New York Mets, New York Yankees, Sports

Another pitching injury, another loss:
The Yankees? recent plight probably does not generate much sympathy around Queens, not with their 26 World Series titles and their latest one captured at the hands of the locals. But if, if, if there ever were a time when Mets fans could, even for a fleeting second, look deep into [...]

Prince William Politicans Drop Crazy Lawsuit Idea

by @ Saturday, May 19th, 2007. Filed under Prince William County, Virginia, Virginia Politics

The Prince William County Board of Supervisors has, wisely I think, decided against suing the Commonwealth of Virginia on a legal theory that approaches being sanctionably stupid
Chairman Corey A. Stewart, R-at large, said Prince William County would not sue the state of Virginia for what he called a mistreatment of Northern Virginia commuters.
In March, Stewart [...]

Today, we celebrate 1776, and more specifically the 4th of July as the birthday of American freedom, the day that the American colonists courageously stood up to the most powerful monarch on the planet and declared the independence of the thirteen British colonies on the Eastern seaboard of North America.
The truth of the matter is [...]

The End Of The Apprentice

by @ Saturday, May 19th, 2007. Filed under Celebrities, Television

NBC says they fired him. Donald Trump says he quit. Whatever the case, The Apprentice is finally, mercifully, history:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Donald Trump, whose low-rated reality show “The Apprentice” was left off the new prime-time schedule unveiled this week by NBC, says the network can’t fire him — he quits.
The real estate mogul issued [...]

Evolution Opponent Set To Head National Schools Post

by @ Saturday, May 19th, 2007. Filed under Education, Evolution vs. ID

A prominent opponent of teaching evolution in public schools is set to become the President-elect of the National Association of School Boards:
The National Association of State Boards of Education will elect officers in July, and for one office, president-elect, there is only one candidate: a member of the Kansas school board who supported its efforts [...]

A Bad April, Followed By A Bad May

by @ Saturday, May 19th, 2007. Filed under Baseball, New York Yankees, Sports

In the three weeks since Joe Torre was granted a reprieve by The Boss, the Yankees have gone 9-8. Not a bad record over 17 games considering the problems they had last months, but not great either, and it stll leaves the Yankees 4 games under .500 for the season to date. And, to make [...]

John Gibson And Michelle Malkin Lie About Ron Paul

by @ Saturday, May 19th, 2007. Filed under 2008 Election, Politics, Ron Paul

Michelle Malkin appeared on John Gibson’s The Big Story on Fox News Channel and the two of them told a bald-faced lie about Ron Paul:
John Gibson: According to a recent Rasmussen Report poll, 35 percent of Democrats think President Bush knew about the 9/11 attacks beforehand. The so-called 9/11 Truth Movement has already infected people [...]
