Paris Goes Back To Jail

by @ 4:11 pm on June 8, 2007.

Sometimes, you just don’t want to piss off the judge:

LOS ANGELES — Paris Hilton was taken from a courtroom screaming and crying Friday seconds after a judge ordered her returned to jail to serve out her entire 45-day sentence for a parole violation in a reckless driving case.

“It’s not right!” shouted the weeping Hilton. “Mom!” she called out to her mother in the audience.

Hilton, who was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff’s car, came into the courtroom disheveled and weeping. Her hair was askew and she wore a gray fuzzy sweatshirt over slacks. She wore no makeup and she cried throughout the hearing.

Her body also shook constantly as she dabbed at her eyes. Several times she turned to her parents who were seated behind her in the courtroom and mouthed the words, “I love you.”

Many of Hilton’s several dozen supporters outside the courthouse appeared devastated.

“No! No! No!” Jake Byrd of Chino screamed as a court spokesman delivered the news to reporters outside court.

During the hearing on the issue of her early release, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer was calm but apparently irked by developments of the morning. He said he had left the courthouse Thursday night having signed an order for Hilton to appear for the hearing.

When he got in his car early Friday, he said, he heard a radio report that she would not appear and that he had approved a telephonic hearing. He said no such thing had been approved by him.

“I at no time condoned the actions of the sheriff and at no time told him I approved the actions,” he said of the decision to release Hilton from jail after three days.

“At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road,” he said.

Poor Paris. Somehow, I just can’t care about her pain.

OK, so she deserved some jail time for her violations, but come on she is getting more jail time because the judge doesn’t like her. Her sentence was too harsh. Look at it this way. A WEEK in jail for a person of privilage is tough, so jail serves its purpose quickly. A WEEK in jail for a ghetto kid is wonderful- three square meals a day, a bed with sheets on it, someone to talk with, clean toilet and shower!!!JAIL DOES NOT SERVE its PURPOSE HERE.

The judge was unfair to Paris. One week in the slammer is enough for a pampered young celeb.
A week in the slammer for a ghetto kid is a holiday… everything is relative.

I support the judge. He does the right thing

Poor Paris. She thought she was above the law and she found out that she was very wrong. Drunk Driving is nothing to laugh at. She should be glad that she was stopped. She could have hit and killed someone and then what would she do? try and buy the victim’s loved ones off? And where does anyone get the right to say that she should be out because a week in jail is enough for someone of priviledge where someone from the ghetto would look at it as a holiday? Under the law, ALL ARE CREATED EQUAL. SHE IS NO BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE.

paris never finished high school, supposingly she got her GED (still would like that documentation) Having a good time being a party girl and making lousy movies people pay to see ( I myself wouldn’t waste the money). USA has raised their kids on “you do the crime you do the time” Rich or poor rules are for everyone, just becasue YOU are rich shouldn’t excuse the punishment. As far as it is okay for the ghetto kids to do jail time thatis wrong for that type of thinking. Nobody cries for them do they nor do they make the publicity. No one cares about them, but booooo hooo poor paris, give me a break she deserves what she did, do you honestly think she would care if it happen to you?

Paris is being abused. She is being punished more than if she was an ordinary person. The sheriff said that! He runs the jail. Paris is being punished more for her celebrity status. This judge is cruel. 45 days of house arrest would teach anyone except the hard core alcoholic don’t drink and drive. Yes Paris is spoiled. She must learn to respect the law. Her punishment does not fit the crime. Free Paris! let her go home and stay there for her term of punishment. She’s unlikely to repeat the “crime”.

  9. Doug Mataconis Says:

    Tony,

    Quite honestly, you’re talking nonsense.

I’m an attorney and while I don’t practice in California, in my neck of the woods someone who was convicted of an alcohol-related driving offense and had their license suspended and then proceeded to drive on a suspended license on multiple occasions in full public view would get more than 45 days in jail.

Paris is so inconsequential to my life. We should be talking about the war in Iraq, lack of healthcare, and homelessness, to name a few.

Hopefully, she will learn something from this experience, but it’s highly unlikely.

Martha Stewart comes to mind. She took her sentence with class, and has become a better person.
