I'm an attorney and while I don't practice in California, in my neck of the woods someone who was convicted of an alcohol-related driving offense and had their license suspended and then proceeded to drive on a suspended license on multiple occasions in full public view would get more than 45 days in jail. USA has raised their kids on "you do the crime you do the time" Rich or poor rules are for everyone, just becasue YOU are rich shouldn't excuse the punishment. As far as it is okay for the ghetto kids to do jail time thatis wrong for that type of thinking. Nobody cries for them do they nor do they make the publicity. Her sentence was too harsh. Look at it this way. A WEEK in jail for a person of privilage is tough, so jail serves its purpose quickly. A WEEK in jail for a ghetto kid is wonderful- three square meals a day, a bed with sheets on it, someone to talk with, clean toilet and shower!!!JAIL DOES NOT SERVE its PURPOSE HERE.
