I’ve previously written here and here about the campaign of one Hamilton “Ham Sandwich, Esquire to challenge Paul Ebert for the position of Commowealth’s Attorney for Prince William County.
As ridiculous as it might seem for a candidate consisting of two slices of bread, several succulent slices of Virginia Ham, some mustard, and, if you like, a leaf of lettuce, to challenge someone who has held office for decades, it appears that this pork-based candidacy is gaining attention:
Some conservative bloggers are touting the candidacy of a ham sandwich to take the place of Paul Ebert, the Prince William County commonwealth attorney. The Web site www.votehamsandwich.com promises that the ham sandwich ?possesses every bit the same skills and qualities as? Democrat Ebert, who has held the post almost 40 years.
And if the Republicans in Prince William County had any guts, they’d at least put up a candidate to run against Ebert in this election. Instead, the only alternative other than the incumbent the voters are left with consists of two pieces of bread, with some ham, lettuce, and mustard in between.

[...] was a point to the Ham Sandwich campaign, as I noted in June. [...]
