Barry Bonds Hits No. 748

by @ 11:03 pm on June 17, 2007.

Something that may divide baseball fans forever is about happen.

Barry Bonds is eight home runs away from breaking Hank Aaron’s record.

Quite honestly, I find myself conflicted.

Bonds has achieved something. But anyone who doesn’t believe it’s because he’s taken performance enhancing drugs is kidding themselves. The Barry Bonds who played in Pittsburgh a decade ago…..looks nothing like the Barry Bonds who is playing is San Francisco today.

The idea that he hasn’t used some performance enhancing drugs is, quite honestly, ridiculous.

Personally, I’m in favor of having a permanents asterisk affixed to whatever record Barry might achieve.
