Threatened by extinction not so long ago, America’s national symbol is back:
OCALA, Fla., June 28 — Bald eagles, whose numbers dwindled to historic lows in the early 1960s, are again flourishing and no longer need the protections of the Endangered Species Act, Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne announced Thursday.
The big deal seems to be that they’ve found a home in Florida. But what American doesn’t want to live in Florida ?
Seriously, though, the bald eagle is back in all of it’s natural habits.
