Do Yourself A Favor, Watch Jericho

by @ 9:58 am on July 22, 2007. Filed under Jericho, Television

If you missed it during the regular season, CBS is rerunning Jericho on Friday nights during the fall. summer. Do yourself a favor and give it a chance.

The premise, in case you’ve been living under a rock since September, is that the United States has been subjected to devastating attack from unknown sources; 23 American cities are gone and the United States Government is in a shambles. Among the survivors are the residents of a small town in Kansas called Jericho and the show focuses on their efforts to survive and understand what kind of new world they’re living in. Throughout the first season, a few intriguing clues are given about who may have been behind the attacks, but nothing is left clear and motive is barely even explored. By the time the season ends, chaos is erupting in Kansas as neighboring towns go to war.

The show was canceled but has been given a reprieve in the form of a seven episode run starting in February 2008. If the show is going to come back, ratings are going to have to improve.

If you really want to catch up, you can download the entire season, or just an episode or two from Amazon’s Unbox or iTunes.

For starters, I’d go with the pilot episode, the recap episode that ran in February , The Day Before, and then A.K.A, which sheds some light on the mysterious Robert Hawkins.

And don’t miss the last four episodes of Season One when they run in a few weeks.

Thanks for promoting Jericho. You are right, anyone who tunes will be doing themselves a favor! Please note that you mentioned the new 7 episodes will be starting in February. Actually, they could start sooner. Jericho, as I understand it, will replace the first show that bites the dust in the Fall. So we may not have to wait until February. Filming of the new episodes begins tomorrow (Monday) and will be finished by the end of September. So the show is ready to go as soon as needed. So don’t wait to get caught up!

This is a show that is different, is exciting, and still has heart. I really don’t know how you couldn’t love it.

I caught every episode during the season and was looking forward to the reruns. However, they appear to be airing the episodes out of order. Leave it to CBS to muck it up.

  5. Lugosi,

They aren’t running the whole first season, just the second half. It started a few weeks ago when they reaired the pilot, then it picked up with the re-cap episode that aired in February.

Since, then they have been airing the 2nd half of the season in order.
