I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

One Of The Reasons Politics Pretty Much Sucks

by @ 10:17 pm on August 23, 2007.

It all started about a day or two ago. Someone registered the domain name olddominionblogalliance.com, and decided that it would be funny to redirect that domain to the website of an an organization of a bunch of pedophiles.

The joker in question is a guy by the name of Joe Stanley. who quite frankly, I’d never heard of before. He admits his role in this particularly stupid little escapade in an email reposted over at Virginia Virtucon.

His explanation for this incident are, of course, absurd. But the action itself points out one of the reasons that I became so turned off to local politics many years ago.  As I recounted in my post about road signs, my early involvement with politics in Virgina at a local level left me with the impression that I was dealing with a bunch of juveniles more concerned with pulling pranks on the “enemy” than actually doing something constructive.

Crap like this only makes me think that things really haven’t changed all that much.
