I will give some credit to the 39th President of the United States, he has proven that even 30 years later, he still doesn’t understand what’s going on in Iran:
ATLANTA (AP) – Former President Jimmy Carter said Wednesday that it was almost inconceivable that Iran would “commit suicide” by launching missiles at Israel.
Speaking at Emory University, Carter, who brokered the 1979 Camp David peace accord between Israel and Egypt, said Israel’s superior military power and distance from Iran likely are enough to discourage an actual attack.
“Iran is quite distant from Israel,” said Carter, 83. “I think it would be almost inconceivable that Iran would commit suicide by launching one or two missiles of any kind against the nation of Israel.”
Jimmy. I’m sorry. You are either senile or an idiot. And. given how you ran this country when the American people (in an apparently drunken stupor) elected you, I will take the second choice.

I attended law school at Emory, where Carter was a “Distinguished Professor.” Heard him speak a couple of times, the first in late 1986 or early 1987, when it was clear that Reagan’s policy toward the Communist bloc was reaping dividends that perhaps only he (Reagan) imagined. Of course, he trashed Reagan.
It was utterly clear to me that Carter hadn’t learned a damned thing then, either.
