Rutgers 38 Syracuse 14

by @ 4:45 pm on October 13, 2007.

After two unfortunate losses in a row, Rutgers returned to the win column against Syracuse today:

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) - Ray Rice ran for 196 yards and three touchdowns and Rutgers ended a two-game losing streak with a 38-14 victory over Syracuse on Saturday.

Rice scored on TD runs of 7, 1 and 2 yards for the Scarlet Knights (4-2, 1-1 Big East), who dropped out of the Top 25 after last week’s loss to Cincinnati. Kenny Britt chipped in with six catches for 176 yards and one TD, helping Rutgers overcome an early 14-0 deficit in its first road game.

Next week, the Knights return home to play undefeated South Florida. A win here would put Rutgers back in the hunt for a Big East title and a decent bowl bid.
