200,000

A brief pause for a bit of shameless self-promotion.

Earlier this evening, Sitemeter recorded the 200,000th person to visit Below The Beltway since the new domain was established on April 1, 2006. Combined with the visitors from the previous domain, that means about 245,000 unique visitors have passed through these parts.

At least according to Sitemeter.

In reality, the server logs make clear that the numbers are a bit larger than that, but not by much.

Nonetheless, it’s a milestone worth celebrating, so I will.

Whoop de doo. You steal stories from legitimate journalists and reprint lengthy excerpts in violation of federal copyright law. You end your own unsolicited opinions. Big deal. I suspect that most of your original viewers (myself included) stumbled onto your site by accident — and won’t be returning. Your influence, truth be told, is zero.
