The Buckeyes remain at the top of the Bowl Championship Series rankings for another week, but the rest of the list remains far from settled:
College football fans who were a little uneasy about the prospect of party crasher South Florida playing for the national championship can rest easy.
For now.
After becoming the third No. 2 team to lose to an unranked opponent in as many weeks, the Bulls surrendered their spot among the top two in the BCS standings, dropping all the way to No. 10.
That allowed idle Boston College to move up to No. 2, meaning if the season ended today, the Eagles would improbably be playing for the national title against Ohio State, which continued to hold down the top spot after beating Michigan State.
But lurking just behind the Buckeyes and the Eagles is preseason favorite LSU, which moved up to No. 3 thanks to its last-second win over Auburn. If either team stumbles — and maybe even if neither team does — the Tigers are poised to take over one of the two spots in the title game.

Of the teams in the Top Five right now, the most likely pairing for the National Championship would seem to be Ohio State and Louisiana State. But given the way this season has gone, anything’s possible.

what a week in football we have coming our way. being a
KENTUCKY fan hasn’t felt this good in a long time. so what,
