There was never really much chance that the Redskins were going to beat the Patriots, but it ended up being a 52-7 rout, and now some people are apparently complaining:
[M]ost alarming was the sight of Patriots Coach Bill Belichick, late in the game, asking Brady to convert a fourth-down play in an attempt to drive the score higher. It is a tactic called running up the score. And it is rarely done in professional football — especially to Gibbs, the Redskins coach in his second tour with the team. So when Brady converted and later dived into the end zone for a touchdown, the 68,756 at Gillette Stadium roared.
Gibbs glared. After the game, he barely shook Belichick’s hand as he raced off the field.
Later, when asked about the play, Belichick stared for a moment.
“What do you want us to do, kick a field goal?” he said.
Then he shrugged.
Exactly. Isn’t the object of football, or any sport, for that matter, to score as many points as you can and win the game ? That’s exactly what the Patriots did.

Yeah, but given Belichick’s God-complex, he simply was showing disrespect to Gibbs at that point. This is why I could never support the Patriots. How quickly Bill Belichick forgot that he was a miserable failure of a coach until he inherited the Patriots, whose foundation was laid by Bill Parcells.

Wait ’til the Jets come to Foxboro later this season. No joke…NE might put up 80 that day.
This is the best Pro Football team I’ve ever seen. Brady is playing with fury and anger this season. They want to wax every opponent and it seems like they can call the score every week. They’re gonna beat Indy by 14 or more this weekend.

The Patriots are playing football. The Redskins didnt and it showed. The Patriots are showing that they are ready to play the game and are bringing it everywhere. To bad if the other teams arnt ready for it. The Redskins had a chance at half-time to change the game if it was hurting them to lose. Apperently they didnt care because they came out and let the Patriots score more touchdowns, to finish a 52-7 rout. Even the Dolphins, who are 0-8, scored more against the patriots then the Redskins did.
