I was in college back in 1989 and it was quite a time. From Poland and Hungary, to East Germany and the heart of the Soviet Empire, the tyranny that had enslaved a continent for nearly three quarters of a century was being overthrown. For someone already breathing in the intellectual air of liberty, it was quite a sight to see; and a reminder that, in the end, even the most powerful tyranny is rotten at the core. Challenge it at the right time, and it will fall.
