Apparently, some Ron Paul supporters are upset that the media is running with this story:
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul, an underdog Texas congressman with a libertarian streak, has picked up an endorsement from a Nevada brothel owner.
Dennis Hof, owner of the Moonlite BunnyRanch near Carson City, said he was so impressed after hearing Paul at a campaign stop in Reno last week that he decided to raise money for him.
“I’ll get all the (working girls) together, and we can raise him some money,” Hof told the Reno Gazette-Journal. “I’ll put up a collection box outside the door. They can drop in $1, $5 contribution
Isn’t that how politics usually works anyway ?

No, this is not how it is SUPPOSED to work, where the media looks for dirt on a candidate they obviously despise and arrange for a brothel owner to come out and support that candidate so that they can then run with their created story. The media knows that highlighting their created event could hurt the candidate’s chances with the Conservative Christian vote–a sector that should be in his corner.

Steve,
There’s no reason that a true libertarian should be embarrassed by a story that someone who engages in a lawful business has endorsed them.
And why should Conservative Christians be in Paul’s corner ?
Everything they believe in is against individual liberty.

Not so, Doug. The vast majority of Christian Conservatives are Constitutionalists, except that they have been brainwashed to accept interventionism on the part of defending the modern nation-state of Israel. Other than that, they should naturally be in RP’s corner. IMHO, the mainstream media knows that and is pulling stunts like this one to push them away from a candidate they should otherwise be wholeheartedly endorsing.
AND, Ron Paul is not a “true” libertarian at all in the sense that most Libertarians use the term. He just does not support government going beyond the Constitution.
There is a difference between morally right and legally right, and most people will vote for the former.

Steve,
1. I think you’re about as wrong as anyone can be about what Christian Conservatives believe
2. Ron Paul is a libertarian. He ran for President as a Libertarian in 1988. He has said that the state shouldn’t be allowed to tell people whether they can get married or not. He’s a libertarian. Get used to it.

Doug,
I am SURE you are wrong about what most Christians conservatives believe. I am one, in most ways.
Most Christian conservatives are strict constructionists who respect and cherish the Constitution as designed by the founding fathers–precisely like Ron Paul. Ron Paul has only been a Libertarian for 1 year+ of his 30+ year political career.
Get used to that.

Steve,
Well, if you’re right then it would sure as heck explain why Ron Paul isn’t moving in the polls and why many prominent libertarians are questioning their support for him.
And if you think that this little story about the brothel owner is bad, then all I can say is that you’ve got no sense of humor.

One of Ron Paul’s Latest Endorsements…
Over the past few days, Ron Paul has received the endorsement of this Nevada business owner. Sounds way too Bill Clinton-ish. (HT: Below the Beltway) -Colonel Steve…

What’s the big deal here? What two consenting adults do in privacy is none of the government’s business. Police officers have better things to do with their time like catching real criminals…murders, rapists, child molesters, etc.
