Some People Have A Very Interesting Definition Of “Envelop”

by @ 2:23 pm on December 5, 2007.

It’s still snowing lightly outside here in Western Prince William County, but I can also still see the strands of grass in the yard.

Apparently, that counts as a pile:

As snow began to envelop the region, local schools scrambled to announce cancellations of evening activities on Wednesday. Fairfax County Public Schools announced on their web site that they had canceled all school activities for Wednesday evening.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — people around here are a bunch of snow wimps.

Growing up in Iowa and living seven years in Colorado, I was suprised they even stated it was snowing today and poeple her are freaking OUT!. I think the term “flurries” was created for just the kinda wintery action we are seeing today. Envelop should be defined as at least 5 inches if not 10. :)

Here in Kenosha, WI we hardly ever cancel for snow, even if we get 5 or more inches. It takes damn near apocalypse for us to close schools.
