The Ron Paul Blimp Is Coming To Manassas

by @ 5:03 pm on December 11, 2007. Filed under 2008 Election, Politics, Prince William County, Ron Paul

Delayed in part by funding issues and in part by some crappy weather that’s been hanging over the Eastern United States this week, the Ron Paul Blimp is scheduled to make its way to Manassas, Virginia tomorrow:

A 197-foot blimp is scheduled to float above Manassas sometime on Wednesday, the first day of a unique marketing blitz for presidential candidate Ron Paul.

A group of supporters trying to get Paul on the presidential ballot in Virginia said they would be cheering for the blimp at the Manassas Airport.

(…)

“This is the first presidential candidate that is worth devoting some of my life to help,” said Chad Nelson, the organizer of the Centreville Ron Paul for president group on meetup.com. “The primary reason I like him so much is that he’s for liberty and that he’s for the constitution.”

Nelson of Manassas and about 30 supporters are expected to cheer the blimp on its way to Boston via Manassas, he said. The blimp’s next stops are in Washington, D.C., and New York City.

Assuming all goes as planned, I should be able to get some pretty good pictures of the blimp without even having to go the airport; although, if time and work permits I will try to get over there just to see the spectacle of the darn thing.
