It looks like Barack Obama will get the endorsement of at least one high-powered Democrat on the eve of the New Hampshire primary:
ABC News’ Karen Travers Reports: Former Sen. Bill Bradley will endorse Sen. Barack Obama in New Hampshire on Monday, ABC News has learned.
A source close to the senator said that he has waited until now to endorse because he wanted to give former Sen. John Edwards a shot in Iowa first.
Bradley is a former Democratic senator from New Jersey and ran for his party’s nomination in 2000, losing to former Vice President Al Gore.
A high-level Obama campaign staffer confirmed the endorsement late Saturday night on the condition of anonymity.
If nothing else, Bradley’s decision to endorse Obama now over Edwards confirms what should already be obvious; notwithstanding the continued presence of Bill Richardson and John Edwards in the race, the Democratic nomination is really a two-person contest between Obama and Clinton.
