Below The Beltway

I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Ron Paul @ CPAC a/k/a Ron Tilts To The Right

by @ 10:02 pm on February 7, 2008.

I’ve got to admit, I’m confused.

For the longest time, Ron Paul was campaigning as anything other than a conservative. He called himself a libertarian, heck he ran as a Libertarian for President 20 years ago, and, as the great F.A. Hayek reminded us more than 40 years ago, there is a big difference between between being a conservative and being someone who believes in individual liberty.

Nonetheless, Ron Paul, the supposed libertarian Republican candidate for President showed up today at CPAC and called himself a true conservative.

Here’s the video, you be the judge:

I believe that Ron Paul has the right idea in fixing the state of America’s economy. He makes the most sense and has a fundamental understanding of the Constitution. If he were elected President, I would once again have hope that the United States is not doomed to fascism.

This is one of only a few that supported Reagan and Reagan campaigned for him. The rest just like to say Reagan’s name. Conservative means to reduce spending and not going to wars without cause. This is your very last chance to go with a true winner. Ron Paul can win. Go Ron Paul!

Wow- Seriously, Dr. Paul makes McCain seem like a NAZI Fascist—or a was it called National Socialist Party. Anyway, he’s got cash in the bank 42 plus delegate’s and more coming. He’s here to stay and Big Brother media will have to keep devising plans to censer, but, sooner or later MSM, faux-news and the others will have to put him on stage with McCain and we will see what a true leftist he is, as well as the Bee. Did ya notice that the Bee speeks more like Paul everyday?? Go figure, I guess freedom from the dictatorship of public servants is catching on.

There’s nothing to be confused about here. It’s a great speech, and very easy to understand. What’s confusing you?

  5. Peter Joseph Gay Says:

If “The Conscience of a Conservative” is not a thoroughly Libertarian document, I don’t know what is.

Ron Paul is both a Libertarian and a Conservative, as was Barry Goldwater before him.

Ron Paul’s speech today gave a glimpse of hope for a nation that is heading for disaster like a freight train downhill. Why is this the ONLY man speaking out about what this country is truly about and SHOULD be working towards? And why is the media constantly censoring him? This makes me very angry and suspicious about our current leaders and those that control the media.
