While I can’t say I’m entirely surprised, Barack Obama beat Hillary Clinton in all three Potomac Primaries:
Sen. Barack Obama swept to convincing victories over Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton in Democratic presidential primaries in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, extending his winning streak since Feb. 5 to eight.
(…)
Virginia was the state in which Clinton had hoped to perform beyond modest expectations. With nearly 90 percent of precincts reporting in Virginia, Obama led Clinton, 63 percent to 36 percent.
According to exit polling, Obama scored a resounding, across-the-board triumph in Virginia even among demographic groups that have favored Clinton before. Obama won women by double digits. Among Latino voters, who make up 5 percent of the electorate in the commonwealth, Obama held a 10-point margin.
And, quite honestly, I will happily say that I was one of those white male voters that voted for Barack Obama.
Obama also scored significant victories in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
The Clinton machine is dying. And I couldn’t be happier.
