Texas GOP: McCain 46% Huckabee 37%

by @ 12:28 pm on February 22, 2008. Filed under 2008 Election, John McCain, Mike Huckabee, Politics

The latest Rasmussen poll has John McCain continuing to hold a strong lead over Mike Huckabee:

In the Texas Republican Presidential Primary, John McCain leads Mike Huckabee 46% to 37%. Ron Paul picks up 8% of the vote while 9% are not sure. Those figures are little changed from a week ago

(…)

McCain is viewed favorably by 67% of Likely Republican Primary Voters while Huckabee earns positive reviews from 64%. Paul is viewed favorably by 26% and unfavorably by 66%. Eighty percent (80%) believe McCain is at least somewhat likely to win the White House if nominated. That figure includes 39% who believe he is Very Likely to win it all in November.

It’s looking like Mike Huckabee’s fantasyland scenario isn’t going to play out.

As much as I like McCain as a person, he would be seriously in danger of losing to Obama. He’s an ancient dinosaur and oh-my-God, it looks like his freeking FACE is going to EXPLODE. Like WTF does he have GROWING there? Is he still going to be ALIVE in 4 years?

I’m not just dissing him. If a guy is running for Prez, the people have a right to know the truth about his health.

If he continues to flounder and run into scandals, etc., the best bet for the Republicans would be for McCain to hand over his delegates to Mitt Romney.

I’m a Democrat, but I think that Romney is the strongest candidate. He’s tall, clean, good-looking, intelligent and relatively young. He’s conservative enough to satisfy the Republican base (barely), but flexible enough to appeal to independents.

After all, he was the Gov of Mass., Liberal HQ.

And personally, if Obama is the nominee, I am going to be seriously looking at the Repub candidate. There are a lot of problems with Obama: 1 year of experience (in the Senate), 15 years of messing around on the South Side of Chicago, not in favor of seating FL and MI and not in favor of a revote (a liberal Fascist). Not to mention that MILLIONS of screaming blacks have voted for him. And what is going to be the payback to THEM? Obama owes his SOUL to those black hordes who voted for him, and they are just as much a LOBBY as the oil companies.

Huckabee is a GREAT guy, and plays great music, but hey: Eliminate the IRS? Just a tiny bit over the top. Just a tiny bit.

But Romney has business experience, which will be VERY important with a recession coming on. Something that Obama knows nothing about. Hillary would at least have Bill, who is an economic GENIUS, as far as I’m concerned.
