So Who’s The Final Cylon ?

by @ 6:33 am on March 29, 2008. Filed under Battlestar Galactica, Television

Along with the question of exactly what kind of Earth we’ll see when Galactica actually gets there, the identity of the final Cylon is the one remaining mystery of Season Four, and Ron Moore gives us a little hint:

[T]hanks to a recent issue of TV Guide, predicting the identity of the final Cylon just got a little bit easier. Battlestar Galactica executive producer Ronald D. Moore told the magazine which cast members are definitely not the final model, narrowing the field down considerably. If you want to go into season 4 completely spoiler-free, don’t read on.

Contrary to fan speculation, Moore swears that the final Cylon is not one of the show’s primary humans. That means we can rule out either of the Adamas, President Roslin (Mary McDonnell), Starbuck, and Gaius Baltar (Gaius Baltar). “Even if you guess correctly, it’s still just a guess,” Moore teased. “There’s no way anyone can figure it out without knowing exactly where we’re going with the final season.”

A large chunk of season 4 will revolve around how Tyrol, Tigh (Michael Hogan), Anders, and Tory deal with their newly revealed Cylon natures. Tigh will go into deep denial, Tyrol (Aaron Douglas) will try to make sense out of it, Anders will explore his dark side, and Tory will dive further into her political career. According to Michael Trucco, who plays Sam Anders, “We’re going along for the ride, just like the fans. We don’t even know where the four new Cylons fall in Cylon chronology. Are we predecessors? Or did we come afterward? Are we divine?”

If the final Cylon truly isn’t one of the primary cast members, who could it be? There are so many other possibilities. It could be Ellen Tigh, Admiral Cain, Doc Cottle, Hot Dog, Zac Adama, Kendra Shaw, or about a dozen other people.

Six days and counting……

The Final Cylon cannot be someone who has already died. The 7 Cylons before (except D’Anna, who is deactivated for the time being) claim to not know who the Final Five are, and if the final Cylon died, they would show up in the goo bath…thus giving their identity away. The only way for the producers to avoid a HUGE storyline gaffe would be to make the Final Cylon someone who hasn’t died.

In one of the forums, it mentioned in a interview, Ron Moore had said the show’s been leaving clues since season 1. So, it must be a minor character since then…Halo, Galen, or maybe even the character played by the original Apollo?

  3. Mark says:

Not one of the primary humans. if one of them is a cylon than they dont count because they are not human
