I believe in the free speech that liberals used to believe in, the economic freedom that conservatives used to believe in, and the personal freedom that America used to believe in.

Bizarre Campaign Item Of The Day

by @ 6:48 pm on April 3, 2008. Filed under 2008 Election, In The News, Politics

Apparently, someone’s been giving out the phone number for the Clinton campaign’s daily conference call:

In the “just plain bizarre” category, some “dude,” as our colleague Chris Cillizza, a.k.a, “the Fix,” tells us, got on today’s conference call with Hillary Clinton’s chief campaign strategist Mark Penn, communications director Howard Wolfson and deputy communications director Phil Singer and asked whether Clinton could “talk sexy” in her ads so he could “pinch the squid.”

The unidentified man then said he thought Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) has “nice ears.”

Needless to say, the conference call crasher was ignored.

If he’d ended the call with Baba Booey, I’d say it was a Howard Stern listener.

And, for the record, the last thing America needs is to hear Hillary “talk sexy.”

  1. I know the story here is that comments that the guy made, which I think everyone will agree was a decent practical joke, but giving out the conference call phone number to people who aren’t really supposed to have it isn’t that uncommon.

I’ve heard of people giving out the phone number for conference calls to bloggers that they really trust, but the blogger usually just kind of keeps his mouth shut because they know they weren’t necessarily “officially” invited.
