And the award for 2008 goes to Tammy Miller of Hartford, Wisconsin:
PORTAGE, Wis. — A woman will serve eight years in prison for driving drunk after her 9-year-old son blew into an ignition lock designed to prevent intoxicated driving.
Thirty-nine-year-old Tammy Miller of Hartford was sentenced in Columbia County Wednesday after pleading no contest to drunken driving and bail jumping. It’s Miller’s seventh drunken driving offense.
Miller was pulled over on the interstate last August after a motorist told authorities the woman nearly had a collision. Miller’s truck had an ignition lock that requires the driver to blow into it to show he or she isn’t intoxicated.
The 9-year-old told investigators he blew into the lock so his mother could operate the vehicle. Miller’s 11- and 12-year-old sons were also in the truck.
Sometimes I find it amazing that it’s easier for people to create a human life than it is for them to buy a dog.
